C4 Atelier - A story of African Wild dogs and photography as a conservation tool

Overview

Join Janet Kleyn in conversation with Jocelin Kagan - passionate wildlife photographer and author of four titles. Jocelin Kagan's first photographic book Africa's Wild Dogs - A Survival Story, will warm even the hardest heart towards the iconic African Wild Dog. Jocelin spent five years researching and photographing wild dogs to realize her dream of publishing a book that dispels the myths around wild dogs and alert the world what extraordinary animals they are. This is not a photographic book, it's a conservation book with some incredible imagery to tell the story.. Jocelin's story may be about the wild dogs of Southern Africa, but it has much more universal lesson for wildlife conservation - the topic for this discussion.

Janet Kleyn

Janet Kleyn manages the C4 photographic concession at Mashatu Game Reserve in the Northern Tuli block of Botswana. In this role Janet shares her expert advice, tuition and tips to help her clients take their photography to the next level. Before taking on her role at Mashatu Janet was one of only a handful of women conducting backpack walking trails in the Kruger National Park. For Janet “it’s about the experience of being in nature, as much as getting the photograph – and if you loving the experience you’re bound to reflect that in your photography”.
